Welcome to Orleans!
As you travel through the 15 towns of Cape Cod, Orleans
is a must-visit and a personal favorite of mine. This
vibrant, year-round community is located at the "elbow"
of the Cape, where the Atlantic Ocean meets Cape Cod
Bay. Known for its breathtaking natural beauty, Orleans
offers both ocean- and bay-side beaches. Nauset
Beach is a must-see, with its rolling waves and beautiful
dunes. On the bay side, where the water is calmer and
warmer, you'll find Skaket Beach and Rock Harbor, where
unforgettable sunsets await.
With roots dating back to the Mayflower landing of
1620 and the establishment of Plymouth County, Orleans
is rich in American history and maritime heritage.
Explore the story of Isaac Snow's participation in
the American Revolution, along with the town's long
tradition of shipwrecks and lifesaving dating back to the
winter of 1626–1627. Long before Orleans was formally
incorporated, its history had already begun to take
shape. Take a journey through this fascinating town and
discover its remarkable past.
Today, Orleans is a designated cultural district filled with
galleries, the Academy of Performing Arts, and outdoor
summer concerts. Its charming boutiques, rich culture,
history, and endless shops make it a quintessential
seaside destination. Orleans also offers some of the
finest restaurants on the Cape. Spend time exploring
the conservation areas, cycling the famous bike trail, or
relaxing in beautiful spots like Little Pleasant Bay and
Kent's Point. For family fun, catch an Orleans Firebirds
