In 2014, Glenn Ritt, President of Ritt Communications, came to a realization: the Cape had so many museums across its historic towns, but there wasn't one central repository where visitors could learn more about the wide variety of attractions the region had to offer. As a result, the Cape Cod Museum Trail was born – an online guide where people can view Cape Cod's museums at a glance to align with their interests. What started as a collection of 12 museums when the project first started, the Cape Cod Museum Trail now features information on more than 75 museums and attractions across the Cape. The online resource has descriptions and contact information for each museum and a built-in Google Map that allows visitors to get directions from any starting point. It also features photo galleries, videos, feature stories and virtual tours for those who can't make it to the attractions in person. The Cape Cod Museum Trail is one of a kind, in the sense that it's a one-stop location to plan your vacation or just stay current every month with Cape Cod happenings. "The Cape Cod Museum Trail is a resource for people to find areas of interest. If you're into art, you can view the options of local art museums. Each art museum on the Cape features different members and artists; and you can view that in advance too," explains Mary Taylor, Program Manager of the Cape Cod Museum Trail. "For those into culinary experiences, there are attractions on the Cape where you can cook a recipe with a chef, make homemade bread or bake pies in the fall and at Christmas time."
