CAPE COD MARTIME MUSEUM
The Cape Cod Maritime Museum, located on the historic Hyannis water-
front just steps from Hy-Line Cruises, is a lively hub for maritime history, education,
and hands-on experiences. Alongside rotating exhibits, we host History on Tap—a
bi-weekly lecture series featuring maritime experts, often in partnership with local
breweries, for a fun, laid-back learning experience.
In the summer, visitors can enjoy our vibrant rowing program or take
a sail aboard Sarah, our 1886 Crosby catboat replica. Sarah was built right here
in our fully operational boat shop, the heart of the museum, where volunteers
restore classic wooden vessels and lead youth boatbuilding classes.
This summer marks the 5th season of our flagship Young Mariner Pro-
gram, an all-day, 4-day adventure for kids ages 9–12. Blending boating, marine
science, and Cape Cod ecology, the program takes place on the water and in the
museum with STEM experiments, beach trips, fishing, and hands-on activities. It's
a unique chance for kids to build water confidence, explore our local environment,
and learn to be stewards of the sea.Register now at www.youngmariner.org
