Budget-Friendly Things to Do on Cape Cod
Want a fun activity to do this summer without breaking the bank? Here are 5 ideas that are
either free or flexible based on your budget.
1. Have a beach day
Our beautiful beaches are why people flock to Cape Cod in the summer. Pack up the car
and the cooler and enjoy a beautiful day on the beach. Just don't forget the sunblock!
2. Go to a CCBL game
If you are a sport fan, a baseball game is a staple of the summer. The Cape Cod Baseball
League offers games all over Cape Cod free of charge. With a stacked resume of CCBL
alumni that went on to the MLB, you might get a chance to see a star of tomorrow.
3. Cape Cod Rail Trail or Shining Sea Bikeway
Fancy a bike ride? Two major trails cut across Cape Cod. The Shining Sea Bikeway is just
under 11 miles and runs from North Falmouth to Woods Hole. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is 25
miles long and cuts through state and national parks, trail heading in Yarmouth and
Wellfleet respectively. From the Rail Trail, you can divert onto other trails that venture into
other towns.
4. Explore a Cape Cod downtown
Cape Cod is full of quaint downtowns that offer dining, shopping or a nice stroll if you
prefer window shopping. With 16 towns and villages on Cape Cod, you have plenty of
options to choose from. Make a day out of it and get to know a town better.
5. Check your local library for museum passes
Something that you might not know is that your local library often has passes that you can
check out which will grant you free or discounted tickets to local and New England points
of interest. Local museums will frequently have passes at the library. Refer to your library's
website to see what passes they have.
