Titcombs Bookshop is the first stop for good reads at 432 Route 6A, East Sandwich. Open year round since 1966, Titcombs evolved from the long- abandoned "Paper Barn" into a well loved, three-story shop stocked with new, used and rare books. The crew at Tit- combs invites guests to stop by and see their wonderful selection of toys too. Next up is the award- winning Brewster Book- store at 2684 Main Street, Brewster. Open all year round, Brewster Bookstore welcomes visitors to explore its 30,000 books, poke through its selection of greeting cards, stationery and gifts and play in its extensive children's section. Brewster Book- store provides fun for the whole family from story time for the kids to book signings with popular authors. In Chatham, visitors will find two wonderful shops. First, Where the Sidewalk Ends Book- store open all year at 432 Main Street is more than thrilled to provide good reads to guests. During the summer months, Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore holds Literary Luncheons at the Wequasset Inn on select days. Visitors are invited to join the staff at author signings and chat with best selling authors. Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore has story time for the kids, which sometimes includes a visit from a story book character. From there, visitors can wander down to Yellow Umbrella Books, at 501 Main Street. Since its establishment in 1980, Yellow Umbrella Books has made its mark in the new and used book industry. The store is open year round, offering titles in poetry, modern and classic literature, current fiction and nonfiction, art, cooking, gar- dening and much more. Yellow Umbrella Books hosts numerous summer events, including three to four author-signings per week. Down in Wellfleet, we make our way to The Bookstore & Restaurant, at 50 Kendrick Avenue. Family owned and operated since 1964, is an establishment that is truly one of a kind. The Bookstore & Restaurant contains an assorted array of new, used and antique books, as well as first editions signed by authors, com- ics, sheet music and magazines. When visitors are finished feeding their eyes with eclectic reading, they can fill their stomachs with mouthwatering entrees for lunch and dinner. The Bookstore & Restaurant 's menu includes ever ything from appetizers and salads to seafood, with a special emphasis on their oyster selections. Whether you are looking for intel- lectual engagement or a fun read for the beach Cape Cod's independent book- stores are opening their pages to all visitors.•
